Scope and Contents
A. Selden Millward was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Eastern States mission during the early 1920s. This collection consists of digital scans taken from Millward's missionary photograph album. Subject matter ranges from images of Elders and Sisters, portraits and snapshots of President B.H. Roberts, to snapshots of missionaries preaching in the streets of New York. The Millward collection also contains many scans of postcards from Washington, D.C., New York, early L.D.S. sites, Pennsylvania and other tourist sites in the eastern United States. A. Selden Millward's son, Gary Millward, retains the original photograph album.

Biographical / Historical
A. Selden Millward (1898-1973) was born as Andrew Selden, later abbreviating his first name to A. and going by his middle name. He was born on 1898 August 21 in Grantsville, Utah to Charlotte Amelia Curtis and Joseph Eastham Millward. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Millward served a mission to the Eastern States in 1924. Millward was appointed president of the Rochester Conference in 1925 for the LDS Church by B. H. Roberts. Millward was president of the Eastern States Mission for a number of years, and he resided in Rochester, New York. On 1934 September 13, he married Annie Roberta Hammond. On 1947 March 15, he married Grace McAllister. A. Selden Millward died on 1973 April 15 in Berkeley, California and was buried in Grantsville, Utah.
