Maude Adams (née Kiskadden)
Maude Adams, born in Salt Lake City in 1872, was a famous stage actress, most renowned for her performance as Peter Pan in Sir J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan. Adams graduted from Union College, Albany Medical College in 1921. She went on to perform extensively on stage as well as work with the General Electric company where she invented and developed the process for color photography. She is credited with developing the 1,200 watt then 30,000 watt lamps used in color, motion photography.
While not a Roman Catholic herself, Adams is known for her philanthropic donation of her personal estate to the Roman Catholic sisters of Our Lady of Cenacle with whom she spent time on spiritual retreats.
