Scope and Contents
Stanley Lyman served as a federal superintendent at various Indian reservations for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. His photographs are of the American Indian Movement (AIM) takeover and ultimate surrender at Wounded Knee, South Dakota in 1973, and also of the Abourezsk hearings in 1973. The Abourzsk photos were taken at the hearing by Martin E. Lyman.

Abstract
The Stanley David and June Kremer Lyman photograph collection contains images documenting Stanley Lyman's career with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Included in the collection are photographs of the occupation of Wounded Knee, South Dakota, in 1973 and of subsequent Congressional hearings.
