Biographical Note

James Clawson Dean (1932-2012) was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from East High School, the U of U in Pharmacy, and BYU in Archeology. He served in the US Army Artillery, stationed in Panama. James was a gifted photographer in both slides and movies. He also was an official photographer of the Days of 47 parade/rodeo and filmed the last run of the California Zepher. He loved traveling, river running, skiing (Ski Patrol), swimming, waterfront activities for BSA, model railroading, Indian dancing, and Mountain Men Activites. He earned his Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver Awards. He was a member of the local UTCA Club. James Clawson Dean died in December 2012 at the age of 80.
