Organizational History
The MX Information Center was a clearinghouse for opponents of the Department of Defense's MX Missle Program and for nuclear freeze advocates. It was begun in the 1980s when the U.S. government was looking for sites to house the politically sensitive MX missile.

The MX Information Center records (1976-1986) consist of subject files, alphabetical files, petitions, correspondence, financial records, writings, publications, and other materials. The MX Information Center was an anti-MX and anti-nuclear weapons group in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Boxes 1-156 were donated in 1987 (78 linear feet). Boxes 157-172 were donated in 1989 (8 linear feet). Boxes 173-174 were donated in 1994 (1 linear feet).
Separated Materials
Photographs were transferred to the Multimedia Division of Special Collections (P0505).
