Biographical Note

Albert Ray Olpin was born June 1, 1898 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He received an A.B. in Physics from Brigham Young University in 1923 and a Ph.D. in Physics from Columbia University in 1930. He served as President of the University of Utah from 1946 to 1964. Olpin died on March 7, 1983.
