Historical Note

The Phillips Gallery was opened in Salt Lake City in 1965 by Bonnie (b. 1942) and Denis (b. 1938) Phillips, both artists in their own right. Denis received a B.F.A. degree from the University of Utah in 1962, while Bonnie received a B.S. degree from the same institution in 1965. They have both won everal awards for their artwork and regularly exhibit in state and national competitions.
