Historical Note

The Scott P. Daynes digital photograph collection documents river trips taken with children on the Green River in Utah including the 1966 Friendship Cruise and a trip on the upper Green below Flaming Gorge Dam in the 1960s. The Friendship Cruise is an annual boating event that began in 1957. It takes place the day before a marathon race on the Green and Colorado River, and was established to familiarize participants with the 197-mile course.
