Biographical Note
John Wendel (b. 1935) received his B.A. from the University of Utah (1960) and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut (1964 and 1966). A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Wendel served a mission in Germany from 1955 to 1958. From 1967 until the late 1990s, he taught German and humanities at the University of Arizona. With Karl C. Sandberg, he wrote several textbooks for learning the German language.
