Biographical Note

Durrant Whittmore Gullick (1948-1996) was a poet, a writer, and a philosopher. In the 1960 he competed in wrestling. He attended the University of Utah in the 1970s, where he was involved in student activism and protest. Gullick taught writing, and instructed high-school dropouts and developmentally-delayed children. He edited newsletters and was the director of the Crossroads Youth Hostel. He loved to cook, attend art events, and hike in the great outdoors. Gullick was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in the mid-1990s. He died by suicide on March 18, 1996.
