Biographical / Historical
John F. Flanagan (1877-1952) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 22, 1877. In 1901, Flanagan moved to Park City, were he was employed by the Silver King Coalition Mines Company; first working in a Park City mill, he was quickly promoted to time-keeper of Park City operations. Flanagan married Mary Jane Williams on May 20, 1902 in Park City, before the couple settled in Salt Lake City. In September of 1924, Flanagan became the purchasing agent for the Silver King Coalition Mines, Kearns building, and served in the role for 27 years.
