Biographical Note
Dr. Richard Stadler (b.1940) is a professor of history at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah where he has been teaching courses in American and Utah History since 1969. He is also dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and a member of the Utah State Board of Education for District 4. During his career, he has served as president of the Utah School Boards Association, the Mormon History Association and the Utah Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters. As an authority on Utah history, Dr. Stadler has edited the Journal of Mormon History and Utah State Historical Quarterly and co-authored other locally relevant historical publications including, A History of Weber County, Utah, the Right Place: The Official Centennial History, The Weber River Basin: Grass Roots Democracy and Water Development and Ogden: Junction City. In 1985 he delivered a paper on author and historian Fawn McKay Brodie at Weber State's Ogden Writers Series.
