Biographical Note

Mary Lythgoe Bradford (b. 1930) is a Mormon editor, critic, and poet. She graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelors degree in education and a masters degree in English. Her masters thesis on Virginia Sorensen made Mary the first to write a scholarly work about the author. She continued this work in literary criticism, She edited Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought from 1978 to 1983, and edited Mormon Women Speak, which was published in 1982. Her compilation Leaving Home: Personal Essays won the Association for Mormon Letters award for Personal Essay in 1988.
