 Collection
Identifier: P0615

Scope and Contents

Photographs in this collection are from the events surrounding the reorganization of the Humanists of Utah in 1992.

Humanists of Utah is a chapter of the American Humanist Association, founded in 1991 under the direction of Edwin H. Wilson with Anne Zeilstra serving as the groups first president. Humanists reject all supernatural and authoritarian beliefs and believe that all must take responsibility for their own lives. They derive the goals of life from human need and interest rather than from theological or ideological abstractions, and ascertain that humanity must take responsibility for its own destiny.
