The Nancy Mitchell papers (1933-2016) contain the personal and professional papers of Nancy Mitchell (1942- ) and her family. The professional papers deal mostly with Nancy's work in community activism organizations such as American Association of Women, Salt Lake Council of Women, and Utah Health Policy Project.

Biographical Note
Nancy Mitchell was born June 15, 1942 to parents Uno Hill and Thyra E. Maki in Wakefield, Michigan. She attended Suomi College from 1960-1962, then Michigan Technological University from 1963-1965, where she graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration. She married George Mitchell, who also studied at Michigan Technological University. Together, they lived in Michigan, Minnesota, Switzerland, and Ontario before moving to Utah.
Nancy was involved in Salt Lake business and community organizations. She was the Executive Director of the Women’s Business Center of Salt Lake City from 1997-2007, which was awarded the Drum Major Award by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Human Rights Commission in 2003. She was also the president of the American Association of University Women Utah chapter from 2000-2002.
Nancy owns Nancy Mitchell Consulting, which she founded in 2007. She currently serves as the secretary on the board of trustees of the Utah Health Policy Project.
Nancy was involved in Salt Lake business and community organizations.
