Biographical Note
Ina Mae Murri (1935-2010) was born in Newdale, Idaho. She enlisted in the Air Force in 1955, and was discharged in 1956. After her discharge, she moved to Los Angeles to live with her mother. In 1960 she married James Sanders, and the two had a son, Eric Sanders, one year later. They divorced in 1967, and later Ina became active in LGBTQ+ groups in California such as Affirmation for Gay and Lesbian Mormons and Mormons for ERA. She was active for the rest of her life in feminist and LGBTQ+ groups, and accumulated correspondents and friends world-wide. In 1980 she met Stella Lopez-Armijo, the woman who became her life-long partner. Together they founded the group Lavender Seniors. Both were killed in a car accident in 2010 while attending a family reunion in Idaho.
