Biographical Note
Bruce Roberts (1949-2010) attended the University of Utah to pursue his interest in journalism and social justice, and during that time he edited the sports section of the Daily Utah Chronicle. He later founded The Street paper and co-founded the Cosmic Aeroplane Bookstore, which served as a focal point for the counter-culture hippie movement in Salt Lake City through the 1960s and 1970s. His work there included designing advertisements and planning community events. Roberts also worked as a concert promoter for bands playing at the Utah State Fairgrounds Coliseum. He died of melanoma in 2010.
