Scope and Contents

The historical sketch of Salt Lake Valley and watershed covers all of the canyons that ring the Salt Lake Valley and the Jordan River. Each chapter is a different canyon (listed clockwise beginning with City Creek). Chapters cover: City Creek, Dry Canyon, Red Butte Creek, Emigration Creek, Mountain Dell Creek, Parley's Creek, Lamb's Canyon, Mill Creek, Big Cottonwood Creek, Little Cottonwood Creek, Bell's Canyon, Dry Creek, Willow Creek, the Jordan River, Bingham Creek, Rose Creek, and Butterfield. Each chapter gives a chronological history beginning with the Mormon Pioneers arrival and continues through to the 1930s.
