Biographical Sketch

Elsie Aldrich Edgell (1888-1967) was the youngest daughter of Senator Nelson W. Aldrich from Rhode Island. Senator Aldrich was one of the most influential senators during the Progressive Age. In December, 1914 Elsie married Stephen Maurice Edgell, who at the time was serving as third vice president of the Great Western Sugar Company as well as director of the Great Western Railway Corporation. As far as is known they had three children a boy and two girls. More information about the estate of Elsie Aldrich Edgell can be found at the Rhode Island Historical Society under her brother Winthrop's name.
