The Tsutomu and Shirley Sugimoto Inouye papers consist of scanned copies of the military documents and Japanese American Korean War Veterans materials along with listings of members of the 90th Field Artillery Battalion Association.

Included in the folder is a photocopy of Japanese American Korean War Veterans (JAKWV) newsletter, Volume 10, Number 1.

Biographical Note

Tsutomu "Tom" Inouye entered military service in Utah and served in Battery A 90th Field Artillery Battalion during the Korean War. Near the town of Kong-dong, Korea in 1952, Inouye voluntarily exposed himself to intensive fire in order to keep open the communications between the Battery and Battalion, while the Battery was being heavily shelled by enemy artillery. He received a Bronze Star for heroism for his actions.

The Tsutomu and Shirley Sugimoto Inouye papers (1951-2006) consist of scanned copies of the military documents and Japanese American Korean War Veterans materials. Tom Inouye served in Battery A 90th Field Artillery Battalion during the Korean War.
