Organizational Note
The Friendship Circle was organized by Elizabeth S. Wilcox as an alternative group for members of the Authors Club that were unable to attend weekly meetings due to other commitments. It was intended to be a less strenuous program with monthly rather than weekly meetings. The main purpose of The Friendship Circle was for friendly contact and association. No minutes were kept in the early years of the club, so the exact date it was started is unclear. It has been narrowed down to sometime between 1914 and 1918.
