Scope and Contents

The Karl A. Fox papers (2001-2002) contains an autobiographical monograph (circa 2001) of his eary life and background. The history provides information regarding his ancestors, the homes where he grew up and the local neighborhood, his schooling, and church activities. The autobiography ends with his marriage and the start of his career.

The second item (2002) in the collection is a compilation of stories and copied items documenting Fox's experiences as a student at the University of Utah. It also provides information about his career. This item was created in response from the College of Humanities Alumni organization requesting that alum share their experiences at the university.

Karl A. Fox (1917-2008) was born and grew up in Salt Lake City, attended and graduated from the University of Utah in 1937 with a degree in English, attended UC Berkley and Columbia for graduate school in Economics, and continued on with a career in applied econometrics.
