Organizational Sketch

The Park City Mountain resort evolved from a mining operation, which started in the late 1800s. When mining in the area decreased, more attention was devoted to the development of a ski area. By 1963 there was only one remaining mining company in Park City, which opened the Treasure Mountain Resort in December 1963. A few years later the name of the resort was changed to the Park City Resort. The resort was purchased several times before receiving its current name, The Park City Mountain Resort, in the mid 1990s. Since that time the resort has hosted numerous competitions, culminating in the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.
