The Happy Jack Mine records (1938-1993) concentrate mainly on the business and mining interests of Cecil and Cleone Hansen. Biographical / Historical
Cleone Bronson Cooper Hansen and her first husband, Joe Cooper, developed the Happy Jack Mine, located on the southwest rim of White Canyon near Blanding, Utah. Cleone Hansen's father, Fletcher Bronson, along with her husband, later formed the Bronson and Cooper Mining Company in 1946 after purchasing the mine. The mine was a major producer of uranium ore throughout the 1950s to the 1970s. Bronson and Cooper sold the mine to Texas-Zinc Minerals Corporation for $10 million in 1956. After her first husband's death, Cleone was married to Cecil P. Hansen.

The Happy Jack Mine records (1938-1993) consist of correspondence, reports, financial records, news clippings, and legal documents related to the operation of the Happy Jack Mine by Cleone Bronson Cooper Hansen and her first husband, Joe Cooper. Included are materials documenting other business and mining interests of Cleone Hansen and her second husband, Cecil P. Hansen. Also included are documents related to the estate of Joe Cooper. The Happy Jack Mine was located on the southwest rim of White Canyon near Blanding, Utah. It was developed by Cleone Bronson Cooper Hansen and her first husband, Joe Cooper. The mine was a major producer of uranium ore from the 1950s to the 1970s.
