Biographical Note

Myron L. Sutton (1908-1999) was born on 27 September 1908 in Grantsville, Utah. After attending the University of Utah, he worked for the Morton Salt Company at its Saltair, Utah, plant until his retirement in 1973. He served as a weather observer for the National Weather Service for over thirty years, receiving the John Campanius Holm Award for distinguished service. Myron also was a scoutmaster, commissioner, and member of the Order of the Arrow for the Boy Scouts of America. He died on 8 February 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Anna Lucille Parkinson Sutton (1919-1998) was born on 18 May 1919 in Grantsville, Utah. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She and Myron were married in 1940. Lucille died on 26 April 1998 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Abstract

The Myron L. and Lucille P. Sutton papers (1872-1996) contain record journals, rolled drawings, blueprints, maps, aerial photos, news clippings, data sheets, and other materials mainly from Myron Sutton's career with the Morton Salt Company. Myron L. Sutton was an employee of the Morton Salt Company for many years until his retirement in 1973. He also served as a weather observer for the National Weather Service for over thirty years.

Gift of Karen Sutton Thompson in 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2005.
