Biographical Note

Amasa Mason Lyman was an apostle in the LDS Church from 1842 to 1867. He arrived in Utah in 1847, assisted in the founding of the LDS Church colony in San Bernardino, California in 1850, and served as a missionary in Great Britain in 1861. He was excommunicated from the LDS Church in 1870.
