The J. Raymond Cope letters (1945) are carbon copies. One is from J. Raymond Cope, a Unitarian minister, and the other from LDS Church president, George Albert Smith. The letters discuss a leaflet supposedly distributed by the LDS Church, entitled "Sustaining the General Authorities of the Church.

Biographical Sketch

J. Raymond Cope became minister for the First Unitarian Society of Salt Lake City in 1942. He received his A.B. degree from Franklin College in 1927 and his Ph.D. in philosophy from Ohio State University in 1936. He had previously been a Unitarian minister in Dayton, Ohio, and Roslindale, Massachusetts.
