Scope and Contents

The Bingham Stage Lines collection (circa 1958) consists of company letterhead, notes, a history, and news clippings. The history was written by Clara Lambson Miller, wife of Francis Miller, bus line owner. Also present are photocopies of a plaque given in memory of Francis Miller by the Lion's Club.

Organizational History

The Bingham Stage Lines Co. was organized in 1920 by Francis Miller and A. L. Inglesby. These men organized the bus to run every two hours from their Salt Lake office to the Bingham Copper Mines. Because they held a monopoly on the busses, they also ran tours to scenic areas in Utah and Arizona.

The Bingham Stage Lines collection (circa 1958) consists of company letterhead, notes, a history, and news clippings. Bingham Stage Lines Co. was Salt Lake City's first large bus line. Organized in 1920, it ran from Salt Lake to the Bingham Copper Mines. It also provided tours to several scenic areas in Utah and Arizona.
