The letterpress book of H.S. Howell, Superintendent of Gilmer and Salisbury Express Company, includes letters written from Viriginia City, Helena, Dillon, and Salt Lake City. The letters cover problems of mail delivery, freight rates, passenger rates and new routes; and include orders to Chicago for supplies and letters to the Post Office Department in Washington D.C., concerning schedules and routes for mail.
