Biographical Note

Martin Zwick, the son of Jacob and Annie Zwick, was born in Brooklyn in 1920. He was the principal clarinet for twenty-eight years with the Utah Symphony under Maurice Abravanal. He was also a music teacher for Granite School District and the University of Utah. He studied at Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris for a year. When he was younger, he toured for two years with the All American Youth Orchestra under Leopold Stokowski. Martin Zwick was also a freelance photographer.

Abstract

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Boxes 1-3 were donated in 1992 (1.5 linear feet).

Boxes 4-5 were donated in November 2002 (0.75 linear feet).

Boxes 6-29 were donated in January 2005 (34 linear feet).

Separated Materials

Photographs were transferred to the Multimedia Division of Special Collections (P0443).
