Scope and Contents

The Zerubbabel Snow diary (1856-1857) consist of a photocopy of Snow's original diary describing his LDS Church mission to Tahiti. The diary focuses mainly on his journey to Tahiti and then to Australia and ends with his Australia mission just beginning. Snow notes the weather, food, sea sickness, and describes the Tahiti people and island.

Biographical Sketch

Zerubbabel Snow was born on 29 March 1809 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. He was converted to the LDS faith in 1832 and served several missions. He married Susan Slater Lang in 1833 and served as a memeber of the First Quorum of the Seventy. Snow was also elected as Attorney General of the Territory of Utah in 1869. He died on 27 September 1888.
