Scope and Contents
The Richard Nelson Jones papers (1838-2000) consists of materials on Middle Eastern Studies. Richard Jones (1950-2003) was born in Oakland, California, but spent most of his life in Utah. He graduated from Utah State University and then from the University of Utah with a Ph.D. in Middle Eastern Studies. The collection contains several of his published articles, as well as writings by others, on Middle Eastern subjects such as the Arab people, ancient documents, and the general history of the region.

Abstract
The Richard Nelson Jones papers (1838-2000) consists of several published articles by Jones on the Middle East, as well as writings by others on Middle Eastern history and culture. Jones graduated from Utah State University and went on to receive the Ph. D. in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Utah.
