Scope and Contents

The Utah Computer Society records (1982-2006) contain correspondence, e-mail messages, business materials, conference materials, meeting minutes, financial documents, event information, newsletters, publications, record books, brochures, and news clippings. In 1983, a publication known as PC World was put into print. Now, a publication known as Blue Chips is circulated among members. The majority of the collection deals with meetings and organizational materials. There are also many materials on the computer convention, COMDEX, which is held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Organizational History

The Utah Computer Society (UCS), formerly known as Blue Chips, was started in 1982. It is a non-profit organization that was formed by PC and IBM user groups.

Gift of Rick Gregory in 2003, 2005 and 2008.

Separated Materials

Photographs (P1533) and audio-visual materials (A0737) were transferred to the Multimedia Division of Special Collections.
