Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Utah Historical American Engineering Record (HAER) consists of 1 box containing black-and-white prints and color photographs. The collection was donated with a note that the material relates to the Utah Historical American Engineering Record (HAER). Only Folder 1 contains images that were likely produced for the HAER. Folders 2-9 also contain images depicting industrial sites and were likely collected to assist in the survey, but they were produced prior to it by a variety of creators and primarily depict industrial sites in Tooele, Utah.

Subjects include: power stations; hydroplants; water wheels; beams; railroad interiors and exteriors. Companies associated with buildings include: Utah Power Company; Telluride Power Company; Tintic Standard Reduction Mill; International Smelting and Refining; Tooele Valley Train and Smelter. Also included are 1967 photographs of the Mormon Tabernacle during its centennial celebration.
