Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Henry G. Boyle autobiography and diary consists of a typescript copy. First volume covers 1832-1855; the second covers 1855-1858; the third covers 1868-1888. Covers early life in Virginia, joining the LDS church, his trip to Nauvoo, service in the Mormon Battalion and events on the march, and the settlement of San Bernardino. Includes detailed records of proselyting missions to Virginia and other Southern states, and of his later life and activities in Utah. Also includes genealogies of the Boyle family.
