Marvin Melville is an internationally well-decorated and respected skier. Melville skied for the Granite High School, University of Utah, 1958 United States Olympic Alpine, and 1960 F.I.S. ski teams. In 1959, Marvin Melville became the N.C.A.A. champion in Downhill, Slalom and Combined ski events. In addition to Melville's renown as a competitive skier, he was the respected coach of the 1964 Women's Olympic Ski Team and University of Utah Ski Team. In honor of his achievements, Melville was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in 1990.
