Scope and Contents
- Conrad Anker talks about his early years skiing and climbing. Anker discovered climbing with a friend one summer and began climbing regularly and taking climbing trips. He decided to attend the University of Utah when he wasn’t in school he was able to spend time outdoors climbing and skiing. Anker studied commercial recreation at the University of Utah, which is now parks recreation and tourism. He talks about the different types of climbing he has done, as well as the many climbing partners he has had over the years. Anker describes the climbing community and culture and how it has grown and evolved since he started climbing. He also talks about transitioning into professional climbing and talks about working for The North Face. Anker is now working towards a Master’s in geography at Montana State, studying climate impact on Himalayan glaciers.
