Scope and Contents
- This series of interviews with Dr. Floyd O'Neil spans ten years, and contains thirty-seven interviews. Dr. O'Neil was born July 14, 1927 on the Uintah-Ouray Indian Reservation. The interviews are in-depth, covering all aspects of Dr. O'Neil's rich life, covering both personal and professional aspects. Topics discussed include life in rural Utah, attending Carbon College at the age of 27, World War II, visiting Italian prisoners of war in Ogden, religious diversity and Jack Mormonism, Utah politics and politicians, the educational system in Utah, Indian boarding schools, childhood illness, Dr. O'Neil's lengthy career at the American West Center, Special Collections and archival work, and more.
