No. 830 Brian Schiele, 2012
File — Box: 75, Folder: 24
Scope and Contents
- Retired senior noncommissioned officer in the Utah Army National Guard Brian Schiele focuses, over two interviews, on his work with the Community Based Health Care Organization at Camp Williams, Utah, one of the Army’s Community Based War Transition Units. For several years he worked with wounded returning veterans, helping them receive the care they needed and adjust to civilian life, both in the military and as part of an organization called Rivers of Discovery meant to help veterans through fly fishing. He shares examples, and concludes with his thoughts on the Veterans’ Administration and his sense of what soldiers may need to help them do well in the civilian world.
