No.486 Hina Hunkin, 2008

 File — Box: 61, Folder: 21

Scope and Contents

  1. Hunkin begins by telling a bit about her education at the L.D.S. Church College of Hawaii and at Brigham Young University. She was the youngest of eight children, and says that she was lucky to grow up tri-lingual; speaking English, French, and Tahitian. She recalls her conversion to the L.D.S. church, growing up with servants and the view that this was common and a way of someone employment, her pride in Tahitian traditions, and the importance of education in her family. Her husband is currently serving his 11th term as the U.S. Representative for American Samoa.
