Preston (b. 1932) recalls getting his first pair of skis for Christmas in 1938. He describes learning to ski, the ski patrol at Beaver Mountain, first aid training, an early cable tow, the Alf Engen Ski School, skiing safety, rescue equipment, and skiing with family and friends.
