Scope and Contents

  1. Hewitt (b. 1909) recalls his career as a mining engineer at Columbia University and later his career with American Smelting and Refining Company and describes mining exploration in Nevada. Later he headed the Utah Heological and Mineralogical Survey, which was a project of both the state government and the University of Utah.
