Scope and Contents
The party convenes in Denver, Colorado in late June 1954 and prepares to launch raft on Yampa River, probably at Lily Park. Once the voyage is underway the film contains lots of footage of scenery and flowers and men in and out of boats and pontoons but relatively few shots of running through the rapids until the end of the film. This film features the following scenes along the Yampa and Green Rivers:
- Vale of Tears: entrance to Yampa Canyon
- Harding Hole
- Signature Cave
- Cleopatra's Throne
- Round Top
- Mantle Cave with the family from Mantle Ranch: father Charlie, son Tim, and daughter Quanta
- Johnson Canyon petroglyphs
- Echo Park: Steamboat Rock, Jenny Lind Rock
- Whirlpool Canyon: Jones Hole, minor rapids, boat damage (blown chamber) and repairs, The Cove campground
- Island Park
- Split Mountain Canyon: Moonshine rapid, SOB, Schoolboy
- Dinosaur Quarry in Vernal, Utah
