Scope and Contents
A narrative short set in 14th century Sweden. After something attacks a little girl outside the small town of Bergholm, other victims soon display similar symptoms. The characters Father Anderson and Ingrid try to take care of the victims, but soon the condition grows serious that they need to send for a physician. As the number of patients mount, the townspeople and Father Anderson work to capture the demon responsible while Dr. Jörgen claims that the patients' illness is not due to a monster, putting medicine and religion at odds as the panic-stricken town tries to save itself.
