Controversy, 1965-1966

 File — Box: 19, Folder: 8-14
Identifier: VI

Scope and Contents

Correspondence exchanged among the University of Utah, the American West Publishing Company, and the Western History Association. A problem developed because staff members holding paid positions with the University and working on the American West stood to profit from also holding stock in the new publishing company. There was a controversy over continued sponsorship by W.H.A. and the University should these staff members elect to associate themselves only with the magazine and transfer the editorial offices to California.
