  1. 1: "The accompanying photograph of Maud May Babcock was given to my Aunt Mary Woolslayer by Maud May Babcock. Mary Woolslayer could neither speak nor hear due to diphtheria as a child. Her mother was a widow and very poor. Mary the University of Utah under the sponsorship of Miss Babcock and graduated with the class of 1914. After graduation, Mary Woolslayer went on to teach at the Kentucky School for the deaf in Danville, Kentucky for 40 years. She traveled extensively and lived a very happy and productive life. She died at age 97." The photograph is signed, "With much love to Mary," by Maud May Babcock.
