Grand Mesa Project

 File — Box: 3, Folder: 1

Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The original donation for this collection contains photographs of the Colorado state government's land uses for water conservation and relocation projects in the late 1950s and the early 1960s. The photographs primarily document the land before, during, and after various water projects have taken place. The photographs show facility in documentation but show a fine artistic landscape quality as well. The photographs are original prints from Mr. Roylance, and are mostly 8x10 in black and white except for a few smaller color prints. Nearly all the photographs have detailed captions on the back. Photographs in folders 1-12 were previously owned by the Colorado Bureau of Reclamation. Photographs in folder 13 document a trip to Greece, Egypt, and India in 1984. The photographs in the 1998 addenda document a 1963 river trip on the Rio Urique in Chihuahua, Mexico.
