Blanche McKey, relatives, and friends

 Series

Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The collection is comprised of late nineteenth and twentieth century century photographs of Blanche Kendall McKey's acting parts as well as her husband, William Richard McKey, and her friends.

The majority of photographs show the actress in numerous costumes from plays she performed in Salt Lake City, New York and Chicago. A good multi-page biography, written by he daughter Eily Pierson, is in her manuscripts (Accession number 1184, Box 1 Folder 6) and relates the plays, parts and dates McKey played. Many of the photographs are platinum, most of them are framed and the collection as a whole is in excellent condition.

There are also some pictures that document the Barnacle Theater where McKey began her acting career. The oversize box, shared with P0359, has three photographs.

Folders 14-17 are digital components that were sent to the library as scans, we do not have the originals.
