- 8: The first theatrical ball of the mutual aid organization of the Cretans in America, "The Omonia" (Harmony), circa April 1920, in the Central Opera House. Third assembly of new arrivals in New York. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Coucourakis are second row and center. Joseph Coucourakis made a small fortune as a tailor in Bingham Canyon, Utah. He parlayed this into a chain of cleaning and tailoring shops in New York. He lost everything he owned at the time of the Wall Street Crash of 1929. He returned to Utah and worked in a tailoring shop until his death. Of two daughters, only one survived, Catherine circa Chanak, mother of three daughters, Thelyi, Anita, and Tanya
