  1. July 19, 1875 - Washington City to (Salt Lake City); Holladay, Ben, to My Dear Old Friend (Brigham Young)
  2. It has been a long time since they met, but he has never failed to put in a good word for him and his people when he has the opportunity. Many have passed away since they met in 1850. Through the press he has learned Young will soon be exonerated from all knowledge or blame of the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Urges Young to keep his son Willard in the army until he has had a chance to distinguish himself. Is coming West concerning the sale of his Oregon railroad and hopes to see him.
